What’s going on my fellow Learnatics?
Today’s update is going to be brief.
It’s Day 2 of preparation for this challenge.
I’ve been diving deep on Ultralearning. Scott’s blog post opened the door to starting the project. But I wanted a better understanding of the in’s and out’s, so I’m working through his actual book.
Quick note: The book is fantastic and highly applicable. Get it and use it for your own projects.
I’m about two-thirds of the way through it now with a lot of notes on how to incorporate these ideas into my own copywriting project.
Additionally, I’ve also started collecting information on different courses and strategies for learning copywriting that I’ve come across. I’ve been bookmarking and printing curricula to start identifying the key skills.
This planning may seem overkill based on much of the advice I’ve seen online. “Just write” is often the battlecry of most blogs I saw.
I believe copywriting is a skill and to be good requires honing of those skills.
As Abraham Lincoln said, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.”
So I’m continuing to sharpen my axe on this project. I’ve gotten some great tips and tweaks to the way I want to approach this so far that have already changed how I want to organize the project.
If you want access to more of my notes, files and other tips as I work through this project, you’ll need to be on my email list. It’s a skill I want to hone as a copywriter, so there will be a lot of emails.
I may keep the blog shorter updates and rely heavier on email itself, so sign up and get on the list.
